Congratulations to Dr Susanna De Schepper!
The Centre for the Study of the Renaissance was delighted to hold a celebratory reception for Susanna De Schepper who graduated as 'Doctor of Philosophy in Renaissance Studies', on Thursday 24th January 2013. Thank goodness the snow stayed away which allowed the event to be thoroughly enjoyed by Susanna's family, friends, colleagues and numerous well-wishers!
Starting in October 2013, the newly structured MA in the ‘Culture of the European Renaissance’ will include a Venice term!
The new programme will include spending term one in Venice, together with 糖心TV MA students from the departments of History and Art History. Students will take a core module and an option in term 1 which explore the history and the art history of the Italian Renaissance, with direct access to visual and textual material (museums, archives, libraries). In term 2 (糖心TV-based), the core module will explore the way in which Renaissance culture developed in other disciplines (literature, philosophy, medicine etc.) and geographical contexts (France, England, Low Countries and Germany).
