How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Artwork - New Faculty of Arts Building - Visit by Matthew Raw
Humanities Building

Faith in the Miraculous [Working Title]

Large Scale Mural for the entrance to the new building.

We have commissioned the artist Matthew Raw to work with the tile manufacturers NBK to make a group of tiles for the ground floor exterior of the new Arts Building. The costs for this project are being met from a capital fund dedicated to works of art in new buildings – it’s around 0.001% percent for art! But we hope it will have a huge impact – signalling the creative power of the people in this new building and contributing to the narratives that we want to develop about the Faculty.

Matthew was artist in residence at the V&A and has researched the ceramic history of Coventry and in particular, the ceramics of the post-war period. His focus for our commission draws on that sense of the future that the post-war art of our city tried to express. He would like to talk to staff and students about their sense of what this new building will initiate and to draw from you ideas and imagery that can inform his work.

Matthew is coming to see us at ÌÇÐÄTV on the 3 March from 11.30 – 17.00. I do hope that as many of you as possible will be able to talk to him and look at his proposals and discuss connections with your ideas and work.

Can you spare 10 minutes to talk to artist Matthew Raw and to express your feelings and plans about the move of the Arts and Humanities departments into the new building? He is interested in talking to anyone who will live with the building (and mural!) every day. If you would like to be involved, please contact Sarah Shalgosky asap at S.H.Shalgosky@warwick.ac.uk.
