Shopfront Theatre, Coventry
Runs from Thursday, June 26 to Saturday, June 28. Following the successful collaboration with Talking Birds on 'Trade in Lunacy' in 2013, the Centre for the History of Medicine is now working on a new production as the second phase of the project, again with Talking Birds Theatre company and, this time, also with the Centre for the History of Medicine in Ireland. The new piece is called 'A Malady of Migration' and is based on research being carried out by Professor Hilary Marland of ÌÇÐÄTV and Dr Catherine Cox of University College Dublin, funded by the Wellcome Trust project: Madness, Migration and the Irish in Lancashire, c.1850-1921. They are supported by PhD students and others, who will be doing supplementary research and taking supporting roles in the drama. |
