QMIG: Pluralism in Qualitative Research: An Introductory Workshop, facilitated by Nollaig Frost and Deborah Rodriguez, Middlesex UniversityRoom A0.30, ÌÇÐÄTV Medical SchoolMethodological pluralistic qualitative research combines qualitative methods to seek multiple perspectives on human experience and behaviour. It is particularly useful when investigating contested or changing meanings, and different stakeholder agendas, and so is relevant to health care behaviour, service development and provision. Combining methods to explore data brings an enhanced awareness of the researcher role in methods selection and employment, as well as in the construction of research questions and the interpretation of data. These aspects of the research process will be discussed in this day-long workshop in which we will introduce delegates to practical and methodological issues in the design and conduct of pluralistic qualitative research. Through interactive exercises, illustrative examples and discussion of potential applications, delegates will be supported to develop a research proposal and to consider the relevance of pluralistic approaches to their own research. Lunch will be provided. For catering purposes, please confirm your attendance to Stephanie Tierney at: Stephanie.Tierney@warwick.ac.uk |
