This is a composite calendar page template pulling in feeds from events calendars in department and research centre sites. It is purely used as a tool to collect the event details before filtering through to a publicly-visible calendar filter page template. How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Black History Month event
Cinema Room, FAB

We are delighted to invite you to a special Black History Month event hosted by the Faculty of Arts.

We Were Here: The Untold History of Black Africans in Renaissance Europe is an internationally acclaimed documentary that explores the presence and contributions of Africans in Europe during the Renaissance, challenging familiar narratives about European history and culture.

The event will feature:

  • A screening of the documentary
  • An introduction from filmmaker Fred Kudjo Kuwornu
  • A panel discussion with academic colleagues from the Faculty.
  • Audience Q&A

The film draws on art history, archival research and contemporary scholarship to tell stories that have often been omitted from mainstream accounts of Renaissance Europe.

Whether your interests lie in history, literature, languages, culture, media, race and identity, or simply expanding your understanding of the past, this promises to be a thought-provoking and engaging evening.

Date: Wednesday 21st October Time: 5.00pm Venue: Cinema Room, FAB.
