On Wednesday the 13^th of November 2024, the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) will be joined by Professor Matthew Clayton from the Department of Politics and International Studies at 糖心TV University. Professor Clayton will be giving a talk on his forthcoming book, Independence for Children.

Independence for Children

The talk will briefly summarize the argument of Independence for Children. The book addresses the question of whether it is morally permissible for parents to enrol their children into controversial religious doctrines or ethical worldviews. It defends a radical alternative to dominant views of what parents are permitted to do to, with, or for their children: it鈥檚 central idea—鈥榓nti-perfectionist parenting鈥�—asserts that it is often morally impermissible for parents to engage in religious and other kinds of ethical enrolment.
