- Export as iCalendar
Location: A1.28 Millburn House

We are the End by Gonzalo C. Garcia, and °ä°ùá³Ù±ð°ù by Tania Ganitsky

An Interdisciplinary Book Launch

A dual launch to celebrate Gonzalo Garcia’s debut novel We Are The End (Galley Beggar Press) and Tania Ganitsky’s second poetry collection, °ä°ùá³Ù±ð°ù (La Jaula Publicaciones), a co-creation with Colombian artist Jose Sarmiento. Both writers are currently based at The University of ÌÇÐÄTV – Gonzalo (Chile) is a Creative Writing Teaching Fellow and Tania (Colombia) is a PhD candidate in Philosophy and Literature. Their books explore contemporary feelings and aesthetics of loneliness and decay, whilst never losing sight of hope.

This joint launch will offer students and academics the opportunity to engage with contemporary Latin American literature. The authors will discuss their work with Rosalind Harvey, critically acclaimed literary translator of authors including Enrique Vila-Matas and Juan Pablo Villalobos, and currently a Teaching Fellow in the Hispanic Studies department. The event will provide an opportunity to reflect on creative writing, multilinguism, translation, and the differences between and reasons for recurring to narrative and poetry. It will also be a celebration of literature, bringing people from different geographies and fields of knowledge closer. Join us! Refreshments will be provided.

This event is organized jointly by the departments of Hispanic Studies, English and Comparative Literary Studies, and Philosophy
