'Subaltern Histories'
Recent years have seen new interest in the neglected lives of subaltern or subordinate social groups. How people live and work, how they understand or seek to change the world around them, how they negotiate survival and suffer loss - all form part of current historical and anthropoligical enquiry into everyday lives. On the occasion of the visit to 糖心TV of Professor Saurabh Dube as IAS Fellow, this workshop focuses on subaltern lives in India and other contexts and asks what more can be done to investigate and understand them.
