Using images in academic publication: copyright, priorities and pitfalls

Guest speaker Vivian Constantinopoulos (Reaktion Books) will explore the topic of sourcing, using and purchasing images when publishing academic research, with particular attention to the complex issues surrounding image copyright and permissions. The session is aimed at postdoctoral researchers, although doctoral students are also welcome, and will be of interest to scholars across the arts and humanities whose research is image-based or which requires substantial illustration. The talk will be followed by a general question-and-answer session and refreshments, after which there will be time to discuss more specific case studies with Vivian and with other participants.
