Composite Calendar

This is a composite calendar page template pulling in feeds from events calendars in department and research centre sites. It is purely used as a tool to collect the event details before filtering through to a publicly-visible calendar filter page template. To remove or add a feed to this composite calendar, please contact the IT Services Web Team (webteam at warwick dot ac dot uk).

Visiting Fellow Prof Klaus Kern "Magnetism of Atomic-Scale Nanostructures"

- Export as iCalendar
Location: Chemistry Lecture Theatre 5

The physical and chemical properties of nanometer-scale structures are unique functions of their size and shape, and can be very different from those of bulk matter. Particularly fascinating phenomena occur if the nanostructures are subject to lateral boundary conditions on a length scale where quantum behaviour prevails. Recent experimental advances have provided the unique ability to fabricate and characterize magnetic nanostructures with dimensions comparable to the exchange interaction length. I will survey our recent experimental results in the detection and manipulation of magnetism at the spatial limit.
