Prof. Carol Mavor speaks on Agnès Varda

Mavor is the author of Blue Mythologies: A Study of the Colour (Reaktion Books, 2013), Reading Boyishly: Roland Barthes, J. M. Barrie, Jacques Henri Lartigue, Marcel Proust, and D. W. Winnicott (Duke University Press, 2007), and Black and Blue: The Bruising Passion of Camera Lucida, La Jetée, Sans soleil and Hiroshima mon amour (Duke University Press, 2012), amongst other books. Her research specialisms include: the child, photography, gender and sexuality, the fairy tale, the colour blue, modern and contemporary art, and Roland Barthes. She has lectured widely in the UK and the US, and in 2010-2011 she was named the Northrop Frye Chair in Literary Theory at University of Toronto.
