Angel G Quintero Rivera is Professor in the Centro de Investigaciones Sociales of the Universidad de Puerto Rico. His areas of interest include sociology of culture, sociology of music, urban sociology, cultural studies, and Caribbean studies. His book (Frankfurt-Madrid: Iberoamericana-Vervuert, 2009), received several prizes, including the Puerto Rican Studies Association Book Award 2010.
