Student Filmmaking at ÌÇÐÄTV: 50 Years in the Making
To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the University of ÌÇÐÄTV, the Department of Film and Television Studies is hosting a Retrospective of Student Filmmaking on Campus down through the years. A two part programme will show the way the campus has changed over time, and the many inventive ways in which it has been used as a filming location by students. The centre-piece of the programme will be This-That (1989) by Constantine Gras and Jacob Barua, which is currently undergoing a restoration funded by the Center for International Theatre Development, but it will also feature a variety of short films made at different periods, and in a wide range of genres!
The Retrospective is free to students, staff and alumni, and will take place in Room A0.28 and A0.26 in Millburn House, the main screening room of the Film and Television Studies Department. There will be refreshments and snacks to accompany the films, a special 16mm screening of an archival film of the campus in the 1970s running in the foyer, and a chance to meet and chat with current students, staff and fellow alumni.
