Eccles, David. Larrinaga Line 1863-1974 (World Ship Society, 2005).

History of the Basque-owned, Liverpool-based shipping company founded in 1863. The Larrinaga family, from the small town of Mundaka in the Basque province of Vizcaya, were key to the development of Liverpool's Basque community between the 1870s and the 1920s, facilitating the migration of men, women, and entire families from Mundaka and its surrounding region to Liverpool. Eccles's history follows the company's fortunes from its foundation, through the Spanish-American, First, and Second World Wars, to its dissolution in 1974.

Forrester, Helen. The Liverpool Basque (1993).

This moving novel traces the story of Liverpool's early 20th-century Basque waterfront community, through the childhood memories of Manuel Echaniz, a Liverpool Basque pensioner now emigrated to Canada. Based on Forrester's friendship with Vicente Elordieta, a Liverpool Basque she had met in Canada, the novel gives a warm but unsparing insider's view of life in these long-vanished streets and alleyways.

This study, in Spanish, compiles biographical information about Basques in the UK since Roman times. Based on a combination of archival research and oral history interviews, it includes chapters on the Basque communities in Liverpool, Cardiff, and London. Liverpool Basque families mentioned include the Clemencots, Elordietas, Larrinagas, and Tellerías.

Smith, J Carmen. Chasing Shadows. A Journey into the Past and the Secrets it Holds. Corazon Books, 2013. .

Part family saga, part memoir, Chasing Shadows tells the true story of Micaela, a Spanish immigrant to Liverpool at the beginning of the last century. It is also the story of her granddaughter's search, one hundred years later, for her own lost heritage and the truth about Micaela's early life. Chasing Shadows is Micaela's story, from her birth in Santiago de Compostela in the late 1870s, to her death in Liverpool in 1950. The story unfolds as tragic events alter the course of Micaela's life, taking her from a comfortable life in nineteenth century Spain to a poor, working class environment in early twentieth century Liverpool.

Instituto Nacional de Estadística is Spain's National Statistics Institute. The link on the left takes you to the database that records the distribution of Spanish surnames, which can be very useful for narrowing down the regional connections of a particular surname (a first name search is also available).

Liverpool History Projects is a very useful collection of tools and indexes put together by volunteer workers at Liverpool Record Office. It includes freely-available, fully-searchable databases of Liverpool Roman Catholic and , a list of , and the wonderful , which is essential for identifying streets no longer in existence.

Toxteth Park Municipal Cemetery Inscriptions. This excellent site allows you to search for specific surnames found on gravestone inscriptions in Toxteth Park Cemetery, which opened in 1856. I would like to credit the author, but can't find her/his name anywhere on the site!
