The Department wishes to congratulate Matthew Jackson (PhD student being supervised by Beat Kumin and Penny Roberts on the comparative drinking cultures of Bristol and Bordeaux) for the award of a prestigious Entente Cordiale scholarship by the French Embassy which pays for him to undertake an extended period of study in France during the academic year 2012-13.
