About

I am an Associate Fellow of English and Comparative Literary Studies (October 2024,-) and an Honorary Research Fellow of the Institute of Advanced Study (October 2024, -) at the University of 糖心TV. I am currently an Heritage Collections Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh between January 2026 and July 2026 to work on my research project Archiving Futures: Utopia, Dystopia, Environmental Crisis, Identity, and Inequality in Edinburgh鈥檚 Special Collections (Host Academic: Prof , School of Social and Political Science). I was a Marie Sk艂odowska-Curie Fellow (EUTOPIA-SIF COFUND) of the Institute of Advanced Study (IAS)Link opens in a new window and the Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies (Host: Dr Nick LawrenceLink opens in a new window) at 糖心TV. As part of the Marie Sk艂odowska-Curie Fellowship, I conducted interdisciplinary research at Harvard University (Host: Prof , Dept. of English), Cambridge, MA, US between February 2024 and May 2024 and Pompeu Fabra University (Host: Dr , Dept. of Humanities), Barcelona, Spain between September 2023 and November 2023. Prior to starting at 糖心TV, I spent an academic year at the University of Oxford鈥檚 as a visiting postdoctoral researcher. I completed a BA and PhD (Joint) in English Language and Literature at Hacettepe University (PhD Supervisor: Prof ), Ankara, T眉rkiye. As part of my PhD, I was a visiting scholar at 's Department of English & Department of Women鈥檚, Gender, and Sexuality Studies under the supervision of Prof between August 2015 – August 2016. Previously, I taught at Hacettepe University (Research Assistant), T眉rkiye and Cappadocia University (Assistant Professor), T眉rkiye. I was granted the official title "Associate Professor of English Language and Literature" by the Inter-University Board of the Republic of T眉rkiye, the Council of Higher Education on the 5th of April 2022. I completed the Digital Humanities Certification Programme (糖心TV October 2023), Climate Literacy Training (糖心TV October 2024), and the School of Climate Change online course (8-week course, January-March 2025) offered by the University of Oxford's Climate Society. I am a member of , the Environmental Humanities NetworkLink opens in a new window at 糖心TV, (2024-), (2017-), the -AMH, and (2022-). I have recently been awarded an Heritage Collections Research Fellowship from (IASH). I am an Advance HE fellow (FHEA). I currently serve as the utopian/dystopian studies, speculative fiction, and science fiction section editor for .

Research

My work appeared in journals such as Critique: Studies in Contemporary Fiction (with ), Studies in the Novel (with ), Utopian Studies, Science Fiction Studies, The Conversation (Translated into Spanish and Thai languages by BBC News), Librosdelacorte.es, Literary Voice, Methis. Studia Humaniora Estonica, SFRA Review, Nesir (with ), and Journal of the Fantastic in the Arts. I published my monograph (Nobel) in 2021. I contributed chapters to (Routledge, 2021) and (McFarland, 2021). I co-edited the interdisciplinary collection  (Routledge Environmental Humanities Series July 2024, ) and the critical forum "Cultural Encounters and Textual Speculations in the Mediterranean," Utopian Studies 35.1. 2024. I am currently co-editing an interdisciplinary collection for (under contract-forthcoming 2026).

I was the Principal Investigator of the project entitled Futuristic Narratives in Turkish Literature: 1950-2021: Speculation in the Anthropocene at 糖心TV. This project discussed Turkish futuristic narratives and speculation in the Anthropocene, covering the period between 1950 and 2021. This project received funding from the European Union鈥檚 Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sk艂odowska-Curie grant agreement No 945380.
