(1916-94) was a Cornish poet, novelist and autobiographer best known for his 'Calvinistic' verse and prose. Much of his work is concerned with his religious outlook in relation to the harsh industrial landscape of the china clay mining region of mid-Cornwall. In recent years there has been increasing academic interest in Clemo's work. During the seminar we intend to discuss a selection of his poetry and prose over a cup of tea, which has been kindly funded by - all are welcome and it is not necessary to have previous knowledge of Clemo's work.
