POSTGRADUATE ENGLISH: Experience and Employability
Led by Emma Mason, this session aims to explore postgraduate study: its benefits, challenges and the variety of programmes available.
Guest speakers who will be joining Emma:
- Katie Hall is a current MA in Writing student. She came to do a master's after a break from completing her undergraduate studies and is studying part time. She will be discussing what the writing programme is like, how she addressed some of the finaincial barriers she had to further study and what motivated her to study a master's.
路 Zeena Faulk is a former MA in Translation Studies student who completed her master's in the US. She is now a PhD student in translation at 糖心TV. She will be talking about the experience of studying abroad and her experience working in the translation industry.
路 Sihwa Mun completed her MA in English Literature at Leicester. She will be discussing her experience of master's study, why she chose her course, and what she hoped to gain from her master's.
The session should help answer questions such as:
鈥hat courses are offered and what is it like studying a master's degree in English?
鈥hat's it like studying at a different university or abroad?
鈥hat challenges could I face financially?
鈥hat are the benefits of doing a master's? What can it "give" you?
鈥ill it make me more employable?
