Open Forum - Will Obama be a Good President for Africa?

- Export as iCalendar
Location: IAS Seminar Room, first floor, Millburn House
Now that Barack Obama has been elected President of the United States, becoming the world's most powerful leader, what difference will it make to America’s engagement with Africa? ·         Will the son of a Kenyan do things differently from his predecessors, and will Africa benefit?·         Would he be a disappointing non-event for Africa if he failed to grab the opportunity to tackle issues that matter to the whole developing world: trade and partnering African governments to improve governance on the continent being foremost among them?

Speakers: Professor Franklyn Lisk (Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation) and Professor John Oucho (Centre for Research in Ethnic Relations)

RSVP Ros Lucas (Tel: 50563, Email: ias@warwick.ac.uk), IAS, by Friday 23 January for the purposes of catering
